Discussion on the county moving from Red to Yellow. February 8th is a key date for a possible move to hybrid schooling for middle school and high schoolers. The school board is scheduled to meet on February 9th to discuss the possibility for this transition.
Current approved ratio is 9 players to 1 coach. The board will look into securing possible outdoor space for practice use. There has been discussion on the season being extended to early summer. Nothing has been finalized at this point.
Recreational play is scheduled to begin the week after LAPS spring break on March 29th. The LAYSL website will be updated with the correct date, times, and field locations as items are scheduled. LAYSL is looking for volunteers to coach in the recreational program.

For competitive play, it appears that the Durango shootout is on the schedule and is set to occur during Mother’s Day weekend.
The board is looking into the possibility of offering/hosting regular scheduled pick-up games during the summer season for various age/skill groups. Notifications will be on the LAYSL website when details are finalized.
